What is the GST Margin Scheme for used vehicles?
Under Notification 8/2018-CT, registered dealers who buy and sell used vehicles without claiming input tax credit can pay GST at 18% on the profit margin (selling price minus purchase price) instead of the full selling price. MotorIQ automates this calculation.
Does MotorIQ handle both CGST/SGST and IGST?
Yes. For intra-state sales it splits the 18% into 9% CGST + 9% SGST. For inter-state sales it applies 18% IGST. The system detects the correct treatment based on buyer and seller state.
Can I use the invoice at the RTO?
Yes. The invoice includes the vehicle registration number, HSN 8703, buyer PAN/Aadhaar, and dealer GSTIN — all fields required at the RTO counter.
